Michigan Horticultural Therapy Association invites you to attend

The conference will be held at the Plant & Soil Sciences Building at Michigan State University in conjunction with Agriculture and Natural Resources Week. 


Barb Kreski, M.H.S., OTR/L, HTR will present the keynote address, “Horticultural Therapy: Let’s Get Ready and Get Going”.  Barb is the director of horticultural therapy services at the Chicago Botanic Garden (CBG) which is located on 385 acres in Glencoe, Illinois. CBG is well known for its educational opportunities including the Horticultural Therapy certificate program. Barb is a registered horticultural therapist with a master’s degree in health science and a BA in occupational therapy.  She will share how interaction with plants and nature impacts human health and presents great opportunities to us all.


The MHTA conference is beneficial to anyone interested in learning how the people-plant interaction brings therapeutic change and improves well-being.


This event features informative breakout sessions, book/product sales, hands-on workshops, displays, refreshments, door prizes and optional visit to the MSU Indoor/Outdoor Children’s Garden.

Join us to learn how gardening activities are being used to achieve specific and documented health benefits.

  • Early Registration fee is $65 for MHTA members/$85 for non-members (postmarked by February 16).  Regular registration is $75 for MHTA members/$95 for non-members. $40 for full time students.  Annual MHTA membership is $20. Registration fee includes lunch (vegetarian option available).  A block of hotel rooms reserved for Thursday night, details on the website.
